Titanic II, Brooklyn Nets and Correspondents' Dinner

Make plans to set sail on the Titanic II. Billionaire Clive Palmer says he will build a replica of the world's most famous doomed ship. He signed a memorandum of understanding with state-owned Chinese company CSC Jinling Shipyard to build the ship, which would set sail in 2016 on a maiden voyage from England to New York.

Palmer, called the project "a tribute to the spirit of the men and women who worked on the original Titanic." The announcement comes just weeks after the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, in which more than 1,500 people perished.

The Titanic II would have state-of-art technology and carry around 1,680 people.  Most modern cruise ships carry more than 2,000 passengers.

The Brooklyn Nets have rolled out their new logo and merchandise to go along with it.   The reaction is positive, with words like "unreal" and "amazing" being tweeted.

However, be careful clicking on any links. The trend appears to have a lot of spammers tweeting with links that have nothing to do with the Brooklyn Nets.

Cinco de Mayo still a few days away, but it's already a hot topic as people search for recipes for their celebration. Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexican heritage that commemorates the Battle of Puebla, a turning point in Mexican history. May 5th falls on Saturday this year, which also happens to be the first Saturday in May, which just happens to be when the Kentucky Derby is run. I imagine a lot of Derby parties will be mixing in a bit of Mexico this year. Instead of Mint Julep, people will be drinking Margarita Juelps. Perhaps people will come to the race wearing sombreros as their Kentucky Derby hat. Could be interesting!

Mother's Day is also coming (May 13, fellas) and the search is on for the perfect gift.  More on this subject to come!

Jimmy Kimmel is a hot trend after his appearance at the White House Correspondents' Dinner over the weekend. Kimmel roasted just about everyone, but Keith Olbermann (who did not attend) is fuming mad. There's a shock. During the event, Kimmel told guests that they would find a resume from Olbermann under their chairs. "Keith Olbermann has burned more bridges than the Arsonist of Madison County," he added.  Olbermann, a former Current TV host, fired back on Twitter: "Funny that Jimmy Kimmel ripped me after his people desperately wanted me to fly to LA to be on his show this past Wednesday #nerdprom."

Here's more from Kimmel's appearance:

Another hot YouTube video from that night is President Obama's appearance:

From the pages of Ripley's Believe It Or Not, a pitcher hit a bird with a pitch. What are the odds?!?!

Finally, one of the most popular videos over the weekend features a dog that likes its owner to hold its paw while riding in the car.

That's the trend!

Carlos Hamilton

Wow really? If the first Titanic sank, doesnt the desining of Titanic II sound like a bad omen??
