Grandparents safer drivers?

Kids may be safest in cars when grandma or grandpa are driving instead of mom or dad, according to study results that even made the researchers do a double-take.  Eyewitness News wants to know what you think of this study.  Post your comments (below) and they could appear on Eyewitness News First at 4 p.m.

Sure i feel that grandparents are the safest drivers for their grand kids because of the focus and their conscience of driving safetly without the distrubtion of cell phones, drinking and driving with speed. I notice sometimes when ppl talk and when i see them drive it seems they may never get where they are going but it sure beats getting into accidents, being ticket and have dwi on my record anytime, and if my kids wants to go with their grandparents on a trip i would not hestitate nor ask question because i know that children would have a safe and good time. God Bless Them.

I also agree with the majority that granparents are safer drivers, it is because they value life more than we do. They live longer than us, and has more experiences about life that's why they tend to be more careful on the road and always observe safety precautions.

I agree that grandparents are safe drivers than the parents. When I go with my daughter and grandchildren she has to make phone calls while she is in the car. When my husband and I drive we leave our cell phones in our pockets. My daughter is a good driver but the kids fight amongst themselves when my daughter is driving.

7/18/11 Being a grandparent, I feel I drive very safe with grandchildren in the car. I do not use my cell phone at anytime while driving, nor text. I also drive slower than when I'm alone.

As a grandparent who drives my grandchildren I believe they are safer with me because I do not talk while driving and definitely do not text. I see the the parents driving and talking on the phone with the kids in the back seat. This is very dangerous and I wish the fines for this would be even higher so that parents would think before talking on the phone while driving.
