Cyber Monday Deals, Giants Win and Lohan's Tax Bill

Good morning!

It's all about finding the deal today.   After a record holiday weekend with more than $59 billion spent at stores and online, experts are predicting Cyber Monday, the busiest online shopping day of the year, will be up 20 percent over a year ago to $1.5 billion.   The deals started at midnight with Amazon.com offering 60 percent off a Panasonic VIERA 55-inch TV and Sears offering $30 off a Maytag washer and dryer.

The deals are also flowing on Twitter under the promoted hashtag #CyberMonday and Radio Shacks #24Dealsin24.   Just searching Cyber Monday yields an array of offers, and some deals are not limited to do online.  Best Buy is offering a $25 savings code for orders more than $250 picked up at a store.

Good Morning America has a hot tweet with a link to an article laying out the best Cyber Monday shopping deals that they could find.

For those not buzzing about shopping on this Monday, football appears to be the other hot topic.   The Giants are among the top Twitter trends after last night's thumping of the Green Bay Packers.   ESPN First Take posed one of the top tweets in that trend - "Is this the beginning of a Super Bowl run for the Giants?"   They sure looked tough last night.

Colin Kaepernick is also a hot topic again this week after starting again for the 49ers and leading them to another win over New Orleans.   Kaepernick completed 64 percent of his passes, threw for one touchdown and ran for another, while starting quarterback Alex Smith - who was deemed healthy enough to suit up - watched from the sidelines.

One of the popular searches this morning is for more information about Houston Rockets coach Kevin McHale's daughter.   Alexandra "Sasha" McHale died Saturday at the age of 23.  She had lupus and spent much of the last month in the hospital.  Kevin McHale has been on leave from the Rockets since November 10.

Did Charlie Sheen really pay Lindsay Lohan's tax bill?   TMZ reports that Sheen cut Lohan $100,000 check to help cover the tax bill.   The two met on the set of Scary Movie 5 last September, and according to TMZ, they have been spending a lot of time together.

Over the weekend, Psy's song Gangnam Style surpassed Justin Bieber's Baby as the most watched YouTube video of all time with more than 825-million views.  The song, which pokes fun at Gangnam, an affluent suburb of Seoul, South Korea, has topped the charts around the world and inspired too many to count parody cover videos.

One of the most popular videos today on YouTube is Turkey Surprise in which a man traveled from Hong Kong to his family's home in New York for Thanksgiving.

Students in a speech 101 class were dealt a surprise when after four months their teacher revealed that he does not really speak with an accent.  The video has gone viral with nearly a half-million views.

And finally, a dog that knows how to get the cat in the house.

That's the trend!

Have a great day,
