The 11th Anniversary of September 11th
It has been 11 years since terrorists crashed hijacked planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and (thanks to courageous passengers) a field in Pennsylvania. It was a day that changed the way we live our lives, and nothing has been the same since. As we remember and reflect on that day, Eyewitness News would like to hear your thoughts about how life changed on that day and about your hopes for the future. Click on comment to add your thoughts. We may publish them here and use them on Eyewitness News.

Given what is happing in the Islamic world after 911, does anyone see contradictions or at least hypocritical double standard with freedom of religion vs. free speech in this country?
Meaning, open and outright debasing, criticizing, mocking of Christianity is permitted (programs like Family Guy, American Dad, Gay Rights movement etc) yet honest evaluation and opinion concerning Islam is off limits.
Worse, politicians seem to defend the Islam passionately and then rebuke any Americans brave enough to stand up and state the truth of Islam being a religion of hatred and destruction.
Please tell me your thoughts?

9/11 Blues
It was 9/11 I saw this on the horizon,
This was the place where the Twin Towers used to be,
We will never forget that tragedy...
As I sat on the beach I began to think of that terrible day....
I sat there in silence and I began to pray...
It's such an unfortunate thing,
How people can't seem to get along...
Jesus taught us to "Love One Another"...
Yet it's so hard to do,
Too much anger and hate...
Too many things that frustrate...
All I can do is pray...
Hoping that one day they see it "My Way"!

Remembering 9/11
We'll never forget that day...
Useless destruction and a world gone astray...
So many innocent lives were lost,
A terrible tragedy and a terrible cost...
Eleven years later so much has changed...
Our lives now rearranged...
As we sit in silence and pray...
We look to God and say...
Keep us safe and at peace...
So our futures' will increase...
Increase in faith and doing the right thing...
I'd like to stand up and sing....
I had my own tragedy of which I survived...
Everyone must give thanks that they are alive...
Amazing Grace is what we will sing....
Count all your blessings and see what life brings...

I remember this day as starting out as impossibly beautiful, becoming very weird, and ending with panic and sorrow.
