Movie Snacks

When you pay to go to the movies, do you bring your own snacks or buy what the concession stand is selling.  A Michigan man is suing AMC over the cost of concession thoughts.  Eyewitness News wants to know what you think.  Post your comments (below) and they could appear on Eyewitness News First at 4 p.m.

I usually bring my own snacks and cans of soda along with straws and napkins. We are a family of four adults and it would cost us a fortune to buy snacks and drinks at the concession stand. There is one movie theatre in Coram, here on Long Island, that sells snacks and drinks at very reasonable prices so we go there to see movies when we can. That way, we do not have to bring our own.

I don't go to the movies it is to much money. I wait till it comes out on DVD and watch it on the comfort of my own couch ...and eat what every i want ..oh and the pause button helps when i go get the snacks.: )

Both, I usually bring my own snacks but lately I've been just buying from the concession stand, it might be pricey but if I wasn't willing to pay the price I wouldn't have went to the movies on the first place....

I don't think it's great that the snacks cost so much at the movies however, how ridiculous is it to think that people would sue them over it or bring their own snacks? This isn't some entitlement program, this is a movie theater. It's a business there to make money. If you can't afford to go to the movies and pay the outrageous prices for the snacks wait the lousy six months until the movie comes out on DVD. It's not an American right to visit the movie theater, it's entertainment and it's your choice to go or stay home.

Before going to the movies, I stop at McDonald's to EAT. i THEN PURCHASE TWO 99 CENTS BAG OF UTZ TO TAKE TO THE MOVIE THEATER. WHEN I AM THERE, YOU CAN JUST HEAR MY CRUNCHIN SOUND ALONG WITH THE MOVIE. OH, WHAT A FEELING TO ENJOY CHEAP SNACKS.

I think that the prices at the concession stand is ridiculous! Who wants to pay 5 dollars for a bottle of water! I rarely go, because even the prices of tickets are high, but when I do go with my daughter we bring our own snacks and drinks, I pack them in my purse. My sister goes to a movie theater out her in NJ where the popcorn re-fill is free, so she brings paperbags, fills them up and then gets the free re-fill. When you have a family of 4 its all about saving. Good for him!

I always bring my own snacks because it is cheaper. I agree with the Michigan man.

I definitely attempt to bring my own snacks in to the theater! The prices inside are way too high and we all love discounts, so why not purchase outside snacks?

Ivy

I always pack a chipotle burrito bowl and fruit juice in my big purse when I go to the movies. Simply put...theaters today don't have healthy snacks and eating is permissible.

I enjoy going to the movies however the cost of the items at the concession stand are hard to swallow. Whenever I plan to see a movie I am one one of the people who pop the popcorn at home and bring it along in my purse. Gotta save somewhere!

Timothy

We always go to the Dollar Tree next to the theatre we go to because they have much cheaper snacks.

I haven't been to a movie theater in 15 yrs because the prices to to go the movie has gotten way out of hand also what the concession stand is selling outrageous i'd rather buy a bootleg DVD or wait until it's available on Amazon.
