The NEW YORK Giants are headed to the Super Bowl, but as everyone knows, the team calls East Rutherford, New Jersey, home. So which state has closer ties to the team, the Big Apple or the Garden State? Send us your thoughts, and you could see your response on Eyewitness News.

NY Giants should be called NJ Giants for lots of reasons. Their home is in jersey, they practice in jersey not albany like some r saying, all revenue, taxes, and above all every penny made stays in NJ. Yes they had their start in Ny, but for nearly 40 years they have been playing and practicing in Nj. Hey, the nj nets r going to be playing in brooklyn, ny and will be called brooklyn nets, no longer nj nets and it makes perfect sense, now the giants having the NJ on their helmets makes great sense too. No matter what anyone says, the Giants have been a NJ team for almost 4 decades, and that the bottom line. Let's Go NJ Giants! Kick some patriots ass!

Many NFL and sports teams don't play in the city they represent. For example, the washington redskins play in Maryland! Detroit Pistons play in Auburn Hills! Buffalo Bills play in Orchard Park! Face it...North/Central New Jersey is in the New York Metro area...thats all that matters...plus they play a few miles away from Manhattan. When I go to another city if I'm from jersey...the first thing I say is I live newar New York!!

When the Giants won their first Super Bowl after the 1986 season, then-governor Mario Cuomo of NY wouldn't let the Giants have a Manhattan ticker-tape parade. So they celebrated at the old Giants Stadium in NJ, where they'll never be denied. NJ will always open their arms to them - call 'em the NJ Giants.

The ONLY reason why the Giants play in NJ is because there is no where for them to play in NY. Also if New Jersey wants a football team so badly why don't work something out with the Jets.

I am a NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS FAN in New Jersey, if both teams play in New Jersey the helmets should be changed and they should be called the New Jersey giants and jets. If they want to keep (NY) then find a place in New York.

Sorry but historical reality check. There is no question here, because the NY Giants made this decision by moving to NJ. They ARE the New Jersey Giants - at least until that new stadium is built and they become the NY Giants again. Face it - they are in Jersey - they are the Jersey Giants (if that isn't an oxymoron)

The football team was incorporated as the "New York National League Football Company, Inc." in 1929 and changed to "New York Football Giants, Inc." in 1937. If they are incorporated in New York, they are a New York team!

The official name of our team is THE NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS...If people in New Jersey cannot read, including Gov. Christie, the "ny" on the helmet is not for New Yersey. If Mayor Koch had given us a chance to build a stadium in New York the way Bloomberg did for the Jets (but no one wanted them here), we would have remained in New York proper!

NY Giants tickets have been in my family since the Polo Grounds. And they spent over 50 years playing in the state of New York. To date they have played in NJ for 35 years. Maybe in 15 years NJ can talk. However to me and my family the Giants started in New York and will ALWAYS be our New York team.
