New poll on Bloomberg initiatives
Do you support the initiatives around NYC that Mayor Bloomberg has implemented? A new poll shows support for campaigns like posting calorie counts on restaurant menus, Less salt in food, and the smoking bans. However, people still don’t support the expansion of bike lanes throughout the city. Eyewitness News wants to know what you think. Post your comments (below) and they could appear on Eyewitness News First at 4 p.m.

This nanny government mentality has got to go. What our fearless leader needs to concentrate on is NYC's economy and the NYC DOE. Both are in a shambles and initatives to control our personal behavior will not distract us from that fact.

Less salt in food is one thing (which I like), but this bicycle lane business and what Bloomberg has done to the streets of Manhattan with the 'plazas' stinks. They choke traffic that makes it hard to get from one place to another. The bike lanes and plazas have got to go!!!!! Instead of tearing up the Times Sq to make that plaza permanent (a real waste of money) - hire school teachers instead!!! All these waterfront development plans - hire school teachers instead!!! All this regulation that's been implemented and proposed - I have a wife, I don't need him bossing me around too!!!!

The bike lanes are ridiculous. They destroy traffic flow, take away lanes and parking spaces, kill truck loading zones and seem to be used more by people walking their dogs or hailing cabs. When Bloomberg goes, break out the jackhammers.

I support the calorie count at fast food restaurants. It will give parents information on what they are giving to their children to eat and what they are eating themselves. However, I do not support the idea of stopping you from buying sugar items with your food stamps. Some parents do not have enough of an income to TREAT their children with the occasional sweet treats (i.e. birthdays, holidays, etc).

most of the programs are fine except the bike rentals. that will prove to be a waste of money. Australia has bike retnal kiosks all over the place and the bikes just sit there collecting dust! people who bike either have their own or they cna just go to a bike store and rent. why take business away from stores. the city dosnt need to enter into rentals

He needs to start an initiative to make more elementary and middle school seats available in the DOE and another to make the classes smaller.
