Is sexting cheating?

Rep. Anthony Weiner came clean and admitted sending lewd pictures to as many as six women, but he says he will not resign and that he and his wife will not separate. So we want to know, do you consider sexting to be cheating? Is sexually-explicit conversation and flirting the same as a physical affair? Let us know your thoughts, and you could see your response on Eyewitness News First at Four!

Sexting is cheating because you are making intimate or suggestive comments to someone else that you would not say in front of your significant other!!

Marriage is an exclusive relationship between one man and one women. Marriage has to be built on trust so flirting, sexting, etc. are damaging to that relationship. Hard to believe the question has to be asked.

Krystal G.

No, I don't believe sexting is cheating. Cheating in a relationship requires two people having sex. That is cheating!!!

Yes sexting is cheating because there is always potential of meeting the other person or vice versa. No wonder there is a high divorce rate in the USA. It depends on the person. Gay, straight, bisexual or whatever. It is the fault of both adult because there is not enough quality time to spend with each other.

Whatever you want to call it, if it wasn't with 'his wife' it's still cheating. His affections and attentions should be for her alone, and not women he doesn't know. That said "there but for the grace of God goeth I" (para-phrasing).

Lust of the eye as well as lust of the flesh is sinful. It is cheating!

If you have to hide the behavior from your spouse it is inappropriate and could be considered a form of cheating. this is forgivable if the marriage is strong and the partner at fault is willing to work on his or her addiction to the attention they get from sexting.

Ken

yes it is cheating...My wife has done it and is still doing it. It cost us our marriage

Mike bullets

It is A form of cheatting but remember BOTH men and women are doing it NOT just men

yes sexting is cheating, it show sexual images and sexual conversation between your spouse and another person. i have never done sexting. but if i did i would not be surprise if my wife divorces me.

Kristina

Yes I think it is because you are sending personal and intimate info to someone other than the person you are supposed to be paying attention to, therefore you mind is elsewhere where it shouldn't be!

Maria

No it's not cheating... it's the beginning of what COULD become an affair.

If you are sexting then something is LACKING in your current relationship and you are looking for someone else to give you what you feel like you are missing.

Coming clean to me means the person was looking to make it stop and FIX what was wrong in their current relationship.

Lets face it, if this was an everyday normal person it would not be all over the news. It happens all the time and when you look deep enough the relationship was having trouble before the sexting began.

Re: Anthony Wiener, Why are you devoting #/4 of a newscast to another morally corrupt politician? Whether these charges are criminal or not,the jerk should be fired and lose his pension if for no other reason, because he lied to the public and his family. If he lied about this issue, what else has or might he lie about?! He violated the trust of all! Another loud-mouthed bully Politician caught caught up again!Fire this ASS now !! And, channel 7 news aught to devote more of it's time slot to real news such as the female college student who is missing or the families in Tuscaloosa, Ala. who are still searching for missing loved ones and trying to put their lives back together. It seems as if they fell right out of the national spot light!

David Lamboy

yes ....yes it is....not in the physical sense, of course....but a form of betrayal to ones vows of fidelity
