'Gangnam Style' the Most Fun Ever on 'Dancing With the Stars'
First up with their guilty pleasure dance on night two, was Tony and Melissa! They danced the Tango to “Toxic” by Britney Spears. She looked fantastic!. It was a slow start if you ask me, but then it was swanky and very hot! They seemed right on and you would never know Melissa suffered an injury this week. Len said that she deserves a pat on the back because it was crisp and wonderful! He said there could be a tad more snap but he knows she was hurt. Bruno said it wasn’t toxic it was intoxicating! Carrie Ann said she was great but thought her torso could be a little tighter.
Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 9, Len – 9, and Bruno – 9, for a 27 out of 30. They have a total of 56.5 points when combined with their team dance.
Derek and Shawn danced the Rumba to Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” from “Titanic”. Wow, they immediately launched right into some very graceful moves and spins. That’s the way you get started! No time wasted! They were really good at staying in sync and it was such a romantic dance. I didn’t want it to end, they did fantastic! Bruno said it was flawless motions and she was connected like never before to the dance. He called it stunning. Carrie Ann said that she expressed incredible passion. Carrie Ann said that there was a lift but Derek argued that it was a catch. The other judges backed Derek up. Len said that there was no hip action and said it was not a Rumba! Wow, I’m shocked that he felt so negatively about this dance.
Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 9, Len – 8, and Bruno – 10, for a total of 27 out of 30. They had a weekly total of 56.5. Len scored them very low for that quality of dance, but Bruno probably anticipated that and made up for it!
Apolo and Karina hoped to have an error-free performance this week after Karina’s slip last week. They danced the Samba to “Give it to Me”. He channeled John Travolta for this performance! He did great, but something seems off between him and Karina. They just don’t really dance that great together sometimes. I did love how fun the choreography was! The crowd loved it! Carrie Ann said that it was good but it wasn’t where he should be and they need to work on how they are together as a team. Len said that he loved it! Bruno said that he had a fire going and it was terribly sexy!
Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 8.5, Len – 9.5, and Bruno – 9, for a total of 27 out of 30. Their weekly total is 56.5.
Sabrina and Louis did a Waltz to her guilty pleasure song of “So This is Love” from Disney’s “Cinderella”. She made a beautiful Cinderella! Louis wasn’t a shabby Prince Charming either! They looked so elegant and smooth in their Waltz. It was really great, I’m going out on a limb here and calling it my favorite of the night! The only weird part is that she didn’t kick a shoe off and there was one lying on the stairs as she ran off with two shoes on her feet. Len said he loved the story, loved the flow, and said it was a charming number and she was going to the ball because it was great! Bruno said it was like a magic ride into an enchanted kingdom! He did tell her to be careful with her shoulders there. Carrie Ann said she didn’t get to vulnerability but said that she was very elegant and airy.
Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 9.5, and Bruno 9.5, for a total of 29 out of 30! Their weekly total was 58.5. That’s the highest score of the night!
Now the dance I’ve been waiting two days for. Time for the “Gangnam Style” team dance! Gilles, Emmitt, Kirstie, and Kelly were on this team. I loved that they dressed in tuxes. I liked that Kirstie and Maks stripped them off, but she got caught up in her outfit! It was fun seeing them all do this ridiculous dance though. Cheryl and Emmitt did a good job! Kelly and Val heated things up for sure! They did a lot of complicated moves. But then enter Gilles and Peta! He did some amazing dancing and mixed it with comedy the way we expected. He clearly did the best. The crowd went wild at the end when they started to do the riding the horse dance move. It was hilarious. The team yesterday did better, but this dance was more fun to watch! Len said it was the craziest number he’s ever seen and it wasn’t tight or together but it was fun. Bruno loved it, and Carrie Ann called them a hot mess but it was crazy fun and insanity.
Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 9, Len – 9, and Bruno – 9, for a total of 27 out of 30. That will be added to their individual scores from last night.
The scores from this week will be combined with the scores from Country Night next Monday and then there will be an elimination next Tuesday!
