'Dancing With the Stars' Champions Awarded Mirror Ball Trophy!

The “Dancing With the Stars” finale started off with all of the pros and the Dance Troupe performing a dance number to get the audience and pumped up for the final performances.  The stars from this season then joined their pro partners in the dance.  The remaining three couples took center stage and got ready to perform just one more time for additional judges’ scores.

Donald peta
Len and the judges chose Donald Driver’s Freestyle dance to see again.  Cowboy Troy was back to perform as well.  It was great the second time around too!

Who’s that in the audience, why it’s Chris Harrison and “The Bachelorette” Emily Maynard!  You can follow all of the happenings on that show in our other blog Coming Up Roses.

Sherri Shepherd was back to perform with some of the hottest pro dancers.  She says it’s a “buffet of men”!  You go girl!  She danced to “It’s Raining Men”.  Then, Tony and Maks descended from the ceiling as if they were really raining down.  It was great to see Sherri out there having fun again!  You could tell she really enjoyed this performance.

D10
The first two stars who were eliminated, Martina Navratilova and Jack Wagner, came back out to perform.  Martina and Tony looked great out there!  You could tell a lot of rehearsal time went into their performance.  Also, Martina looked great in her sparkly black dress.  Then Jack and Anna came out and they tore up the floor!  I still can’t believe he was the second star eliminated, I thought he was great!

D14
Gavin DeGraw and Karina Smirnoff came out and performed their island routine again.  It was much better than it was the first time around.  It didn’t hurt that most of the dance consisted of him being surrounded by four gorgeous girl dancers.

D13'
Gladys and Tristan performed next and she looked fabulous in her red tassel dress.  She also really did a great job out there and danced the best I’ve ever seen her dance.  Tom Bergeron reminded the crowd that Gladys would be singing a little later on!

D12
Jaleel White was back out to dance to “Shaft” with Kym.  He did a great job with the lifts until there was one towards the end that he couldn’t quite get his grip right on Kym.  Aside from that, it’s too bad he couldn’t have really been in the finals and gotten scored for this.  It would have been a great Freestyle.

D15
Melissa Gilbert danced again with Maks and Val Chmerkovskiy and she actually turned up the sexiness!  That was something that she struggled with all season.  It was also the best that she’s danced.  It’s amazing how good they all are when they have a lot of time to rehearse!

D9
Roshon Fagan and Chelsie decided to show off their Freestyle skills since they didn’t make it to the finals and really wanted to perform one.  Their performance was amazing.  I stand by the statement that they were one of the most talented duos; however, it just seems that no one at home was able to connect to him so he really lacked the fan power to make it further in the competition.  They did a great job with the Freestyle though!  It was very energetic and it was basically perfect.

D8
Kelly Clarkson came out next and performed “Stronger” while the pros and members of the Dance Troupe performed.  Kelly looked absolutely gorgeous!  She’s actually got her own ABC show coming up this week on Thursday called “Duets”!

D7
Maria Menounos and Derek Hough performed their Argentine Tango and it was just as sultry and full of romance the second time around.  I still can’t believe that they didn’t make it to the finals!

D6
First up to dance for more judges’ scores were William and Cheryl.  They danced the Salsa which definitely plays up his strengths in the Latin dance wheelhouse.  He shakes it better than anyone else on this show ever has.  He did a great job leading Cheryl and taking control of the dance.  Their timing was amazing.  I smell some 10’s!  Len said that if Salsa and rhythm were in the Olympics he would get a gold medal.  Bruno thought he was sexier than ever and loved it.  Carrie Ann said that William has true star quality!

Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, and Bruno – 10, for a perfect 30 out of 30 and an 89 out of 90 overall.

D5
Katherine and Mark were up next with their Jive.  I was slightly disappointed because Mark looked way more energetic than Katherine.  She wasn’t picking up her knees!  It needed a little more bounce, but we’ll see what the judges had to say.  Bruno said that she had great technique and thought that she was one of the best competitors the show has ever had.  Carrie Ann said that she and Mark set the bar so high this season for everybody else.  Len said that she is the complete package.  I guess they didn’t see what I saw at home!

Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, and Bruno – 10 for a perfect 30 out of 30 and a 90 out of 90 overall!

D4
Donald and Peta danced the Cha Cha and it was hot!  He danced it shirtless and he has an amazing body.  I loved the way they put some suave movements in it where everything was connected.  The shapes they made with their bodies were truly amazing!  Carrie Ann said that his intensity and passion were amazing and called him the one to beat.  Len said that they are all winners but that he thought that Donald was the best football player to ever dance on the show.  Bruno said it was another massive hit and he always inspired and surprised with his performances.

Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, and Bruno – 10 for a total of 30 out of 30 and an 89 out of 90 overall.

D3
Gladys Knight was up next to perform “The Way We Were”.  Now normally I would say no one sings this like Barbara (She would be fabulous on this show wouldn’t she?!) but Gladys was so great.  She put so much soul in her performances and she has such strength in her voice.  It brought tears to Katherine’s eyes.  When she finished you could see the love from the Season 14 cast, they all just love her!

Then, it was time for results!  The third place couple was revealed to be William and Cheryl.  I guess his Latin moves could only take him so far.  It was so sad, his kid started to cry in the audience!  It was a tough field though and it was basically a toss-up as to who would end up in first, second and third place.

In the end, the champion of “Dancing With the Stars” and winners of the Mirror Ball Trophy are Donald and Peta!  WOW!  Donald was so happy he rolled across the floor!  Katherine and Mark were gracious second place competitors who were happy for Donald and Peta’s big win.  It’s really cool that a true fan of the show and a great star dancer could win the show!  Get ready because the All-Star season is next!

Elizabeth

Katherine is a beautiful "English Rose" with the voice of an Angel, the personality of a sweet and delicate LADY and, as stated, she set the bar extremely high for this season. Katherine dances like Fred Astaire.

The ONLY reason Donald won was due to football and the followers, certainly NOT better than Katherine!!!

I believe by the Judges remarks (they) agreed.
