Amazing Freestyle Performances on 'Dancing With the Stars'
In the final night of performances, each of the three remaining couples, Donald & Peta, William & Cheryl, and Katherine & Mark, had to compete in two dances. All three couples had to perform a dance chosen by the judges that they have previously performed, but incorporated new music and new choreography. Then, each couple performed the unpredictable and highly anticipated no rules Freestyle dance to music they chose themselves.
Bruno helped William & Cheryl perfect their Cha Cha. This was a hit the first time around so I expected nothing but the best this time too. His hip action is second to none! The audience was screaming the whole time and you could tell Cheryl and William were both having a great time out there on the dance floor. They did a great job and it was a great start to the show. Len said it was as good as he’s ever seen in 14 seasons. Bruno said it was an intoxicating Cuban cocktail! He added that his hip action left him green with envy. Carrie Ann said that the magic is still there and is joined with sophistication and added that William has grown miles since the season began.
Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, and Bruno -10, for a total of30 out of 30! A perfect score!
Len tried to bring some finesse to Katherine and Mark’s Paso Doble. Apparently the judges thought it had too much aggression before. This time around the lines that these two created with their bodies was just stunning. It was crisp and clean the whole way through. It had a lot of great showmanship and I’m sure they will get great scores but I thought it was lacking some of the steamy love/hate romance aspect of the dance. I bet Len will give it a 10 though. Bruno said it was a Paso Doble full of artistry and that her shapes extended beautifully. Carrie Ann said that every move was perfectly executed. Len said it was like a buffet of Spanish tappas with plenty of bits to tickle your taste buds and called the dance fabulous!
Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, and Bruno – 10, for a total of 30 out of 30 and the couple’s first perfect score and 10 from Len!
Carrie Ann mentored Donald and Peta with their Argentine Tango. I’m so excited to see their fabulous lifts again! She helped Donald improve his movements by making them bigger and focusing on the technicality of the dance to appeal to Len. In the first lift, it seemed like he had to get up to speed to really make the spinning donut lift (that’s what I’ll call it) work. Other lifts made Peta look light as air! I must say that this dance did look a lot sharper this time around. Carrie Ann said that she loved it the first time and she loved it again and said she noticed a new crispness. Len said that there was far more content and he liked the content of the dance. He added that it was a tad careful though. The crowd booed! Bruno said that he went for the subtle and intimate storytelling and he loved the intensity throughout the dance and found it effective.
Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 9, and Bruno – 10, for a total of 29 out of 30. My goodness Len is playing hard to get with that 10 for poor Donald!
William and Cheryl were up first in round two with their Freestyle. They have great chemistry together first off! I loved how she started by ripping his shirt open! This may be a little too hot for Len to handle with all of the pelvic thrusts. It was like all of your favorite Latin dance moves put together in one hot dance! It was fabulous and full of energy! Len said that what he does he does well and said that he liked the lifts and the rhythm. He said that the dance was too predictable and said that he’s fed up with the fact that all he does is shake his butt. Bruno said that they were like two devils unleashed upon the earth into a Latin extravaganza! Carrie Ann was thrilled and rubbing it in Len’s face. She said it’s exactly what a freestyle should be.
Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 9, and Bruno – 10, for a total of 29 out of 30 and a score of 59 out of 60 for the night.
Katherine and Mark hoped to show off all of her many abilities with many different styles of dance. She began the dance by singing! Then they danced their sock off! It was 1920’s style which they both seem to really love. I hated her shoes in this dance though! She needed heels! It made her look a little clunky. The lifts seemed a little forced and like she’s a little too much for Mark to handle. However, the rest of the dance had extreme energy and it was hard to keep up with even as a viewer! It was amazing they were able to keep that intensity going the whole time. Bruno said it was fast and flamboyant and said he’s never seen so much content so fast and so well executed. Carrie Ann said that she could do anything and said that it was the dance of a champion. Len said that if he’s asleep and dreaming don’t wake him up because that’s a freestyle!
Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, and Bruno – 10, for a total of 30 out of 30 and a 60 out of 60 for the night!
Donald and Peta did a country western theme that was amazing!!! I did not expect it to be so dynamic and really combine a whole bunch of elements with country flair! It was very unexpected and special. Now that’s a freestyle deserving of a 10. The lifts were also amazing and Peta flew through the air! Carrie Ann said that it was her favorite dance of the night! Len said it was too hot to trot and that chances win dances and he said it was fantastic! Bruno said that as rides go it was ace high and he loved it.
Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, and Bruno -10, for a perfect 30 out of 30 and a 59 out of 60 for the night. He FINALLY got his 10 from LEN!
Tuesday night they will all perform one more dance for judges’ scores and there will be performances by Kelly Clarkson and Gladys Knight! One of the final three couples will be awarded the Mirror Ball Trophy! The fun begins at 9 p.m. on ABC!

I think all 3 of the remaining couples deserve to be in the finals but because of her grace and determination to keep getting better and better, which she did, (60 out of 60)Katherine&Mark should win
