Shocking Bottom Two on 'Dancing With the Stars' Elimination Show
“KISS” kicked off the show with another rockin’ performance of “Lick it Up”.
First up to learn their fate were Gavin & Karina and Melissa & Maks. We all know that Melissa suffered a concussion and some whiplash. They showed the clip again and you could see when Maks twirled her on the ground, she hit her head.
She was taken to the hospital and because of that she needs a rest day, so Maks took the stage without her and said that Melissa is already looking for next week. The first couple saved was Melissa & Maks. Gavin & Karina were also safe! This is the first time he hasn’t ended up in the bottom two!
Next, Maria & Derek, Gladys & Tristan, and Jaleel & Kym were to find out if they were safe or in jeopardy. Maria & Derek were the first couple out of the group to learn that they were safe. Jaleel & Kym were also safe! Hooray! Then there was a big surprise, Gladys & Tristan were also told that they were safe! Wow, I wonder who could be in the bottom two?
Then there was a special performance featuring Karina Smirnoff and one of the world’s best ballet dancers, Jose Manuel Carreno, who was a principal dancer with the Royal Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre. Their dance was accompanied by a live performance from Gotan Project’s “Santa Maria”. It was really interesting music and it also happened to be the band’s U.S. network TV debut. Karina and Jose were on fire! It was so beautiful to watch him work in the ballet moves with Karina’s spicy ballroom abilities.
Donald & Peta and Roshon & Chelsie were the top scorers Monday night. They started by saying that one couple was safe and one would be in jeopardy! That’s crazy! Donald & Peta were safe and shockingly, Roshon & Chelsie were in the bottom two.
Then the cast of “Dancing With the Stars Live in Las Vegas” performed. The show kicks off a 12-week run beginning Saturday, April 14. It’s set at the all New Tropicana Las Vegas and transports the stars of the hit TV show to the stage for a night of sexy, stunning and surprising performances. The Tropicana Theater will transform into the “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom, showcasing fan-favorite dances from past seasons along with new and thrilling routines. Some beloved “DWTS” alums will be featured in the opening run, including Carson Kressley, Joey Fatone, Kyle Massey, Sabrina Bryan, Tia Carrere, Dmitry Chaplin and Lacey Schwimmer. I didn’t love the music of the performance, but it was super fun to see Kyle Massey dance again!
Sherri & Val, Matthew & Cheryl, and Katherine & Mark, normally all crowd pleasers, were the last group to learn their fate. One of them is definitely in jeopardy. Katherine & Mark were the first to learn they were safe, but it was funny because Katherine couldn’t hear and had a delayed response to the happy news. The safe couple was William & Cheryl thank goodness. Sherri & Val were in jeopardy.
Roshon & Chelsie and Sherri & Val were in the bottom two. Sherri was brought to tears! Roshon was shocked as well because he was among the top scorers. Len and the judges say that they are all in total shock. The couple with the lowest combined score of viewer and judges’ votes was Sherri & Val.
She broke down into tears right away. She thanked everyone for letting her “live a dream that she always had.” She also graciously thanked her partner and encouraged people to run towards the things that they are afraid of because it was an amazing experience for her.
You can watch Sherri & Val tonight on "Jimmy Kimmel Live"!
