The First Star Has Been Eliminated on 'Dancing With the Stars'

The elimination show kicked off with the pros doing a dance. 

It was a great way to kick things off.  It may be just me, but Tony Dovolani really sparkled during this dance!  I thought he was sensational!

 

 

The lowest scoring women were up first to find out their fate.  Melissa & Maks, Gladys & Tristan, and Martina & Tony stood on the stage to learn if they were safe or in jeopardy.  The first couple saved was Melissa & Maks.  Gladys & Tristan were also saved.  So that meant that Martina & Tony were in jeopardy and on the chopping block. 

 

Quickstep and Jive Prove Challenging for Some Stars

My first thought tonight is that Brooke looks like Belle from “Beauty and the Beast” but while leaving a little less to the imagination.  She looks great, but maybe not quite PG rated.

Roshon Johnson and Chelsie were up first with their Quickstep.  They got right into their dance to “Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous”.  One thing I noticed right off the bat, was that he really seems to be trying to be the leader.  It’s great to see!  Also, their timing is great; they really know how to “punch” those poppy parts of the song.  He had a little trouble at the end getting a glitzy bracelet out of his coat pocket to put on Chelsie’s wrist.  Len said that he liked the dance and he thought it had good movement.  He saw that he took the slow parts on his heel mostly like he is supposed to and he said “good dancing!”  Bruno said that he had more spark than a bolt of lightning!  Carrie Ann said he turned his swagger into sophistication!  So Roshon got rave reviews from all of the judges.

Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 9, Len - 8, and Bruno - 9 for a 26 out of 30.

 

Stars Will Dance the Jive or Quickstep Tonight

Tonight, the 12 couples return to hopefully wow you again with either their Jive our their Quickstep!  I can't wait to see who is dancing what.  Also, someone will be getting eliminated this week!  It will take into consideration their dance from last Monday, tonight, the viewer votes for those dances and the judges' votes for those dances.  Below is some more information from ABC about the big first elimination night.

A one-hour special, "Dancing with the Stars: The Story So Far," airing TUESDAY, MARCH 27 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), will recap the thrilling dance performances from last week's premiere and from Monday's performance show, along with never-before-seen footage from the teams' confessionals and exciting backstage moments. 

The Best 'Dancing With the Stars' Premiere EVER

Here we go!  Season 14 of “Dancing With the Stars” is officially underway!

I love the beginning of this show!  Everyone looked absolutely fabulous!  Sherri Shepherd was sparkling and looked gorgeous.  Another looker, and for sure to be on every ladies’ radar is William Levy.  I have to admit that I’m hoping for Jaleel White to do an amazing job.  I’ve loved him ever since his “Family Matters” days.

 

 

First up, Maria Menounos and three-time champ Derek Hough.  They dove right in with a Cha Cha.  She and Derek seem to have a good chemistry going.  The Cha Cha starts off a little slower but it did pick up some speed in the middle.  This is their first dance so I can cut her a break.  I would like to see more speed though.  There were no major missteps but we’ll have to see what the judges take was on this dance.  Len said they coped very, very well.  He wanted to see more hip action but thought it was a great job.  Bruno said that she was vivaciously delicious and had great timing.  He also wants to see her work her hips more.  Carrie Ann thought she did a strong solid Cha Cha and had good placement.  She did notice that she needs to connect her dance sequences more so it’s not so picture, to picture, to picture.  Overall, not bad comments at all from the judges!  I would give them a 7.

Their Scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Len – 7, and Bruno – 7, for a total of 21 out of 30. 

 

Meet William Levy! A Celeb on Season 14 of 'Dancing With the Stars'

You might not have heard of William Levy before, but I guarantee after tonight his name will be everywhere.

He's a hot looking Cuban model/actor who has even appeared in a music video with J-Lo.  He's partnered up with Cheryl Burke and let's hope he's got some moves that will keep him around for at least a few weeks.

 

Jaleel White Talks About Starring on 'Dancing With the Stars'

This season on "Dancing With the Stars", actor Jaleel White is there to shed his "Urkel" image and show you who he really is now.  You may best remember him for his "Family Matters" character "Steve Urkel" or his alter egos on the show "Stefan Urquelle" or "Myrtle Urkel".  He says his life has changed a lot since those days and he can't wait for his fans to see his dedication and work ethic.  

 

He's also not afraid of the sparkly, tight pants costumes.  He said that he's avoiding that the first night out and opting for a classy suit for his Foxtrot.  

White says that he loves working with his pro dance partner Kym Johnson, although they do clash at times.  I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of rehearsal footage of that!  Also, don't forget that Johnson is a two-time champion on the show so they didn't put him with just anyone!  I expect him to do really well in the competition.  

 

"Dancing With the Stars" begins on Monday, March 19th at 8 p.m. on ABC!  It's a big two-hour premiere that you won't want to miss!
