A Somewhat Surprising Elimination on 'Dancing With the Stars'
The guys kicked off the “Dancing With the Stars” results show with a rock n’ roll inspired dance. They did a great job of pumping up the crowd for the exciting night ahead.
Then it was time for the audience favorites who tied at 18 last night to go up for their results. David Arquette & Kym Johnson and Carson Kressley & Anna Trebunskaya were up first to learn their fate. The first couple saved was Carson & Anna. David & Kym learned that they were still in jeopardy.
The judge’s chose Ricki and Derek’s Jive as the dance they wanted to see again. What can I say; they tore the stage up again! These two are a force to be reckoned with!
Next, “The Script” played their hit single “For the First Time”. Chelsie Hightower and Dmitry Chaplin came out and performed a beautiful lyric dance to the song. It was a great combination.
Then, those contestants who scored the highest last night were up: Kristin Cavallari & Mark Ballas, J.R. Martinez & Karina Smirnoff, and Ricki Lake & Derek Hough. Ricki & Derek and Kristin & Mark were both safe, while J.R. & Karina were left in a moment of suspense but also learned that they would be back next week.
Now it was time for “The Macy’s Stars of Dance”. It was absolutely stunning to watch! It was created by Emmy Award-winning choreographer Marguerite Derricks. It was a piece inspired by the legendary Busby Berkeley. In addition, all nine male "DWTS" pros and troupe members performed in it as well.
Those who struggled were up for their results next. Rob Kardashian & Cheryl Burke, Nancy Grace & Tristan McManus, and Chaz Bono & Lacey Schwimmer were hoping for the best despite some rocky performances. Rob & Cheryl were the first to breathe a sigh of relief. Chaz & Lacey learned that they were in jeopardy, while Nancy & Tristan will be back to dance again.
Demi Lovato, who looked fabulous by the way, came out to perform her hit “Skyscraper”. Some of the “DWTS Dance Troop” did a cool dance with these stacked up ladders and a stairway display and it was a really nice way to illustrate the song. The crowd went wild for Demi!
Chynna Phillips & Tony Dovolani, Elisabetta Canalis & Val Chmerkovskiy, and Hope Solo & Maksim Chmerkovskiy were the last group to find out if they were safe or in jeopardy. Chynna & Tony and Hope & Maks were safe. Elisabetta & Val learned that they were in jeopardy.
In the end, it came down to David & Kym, Chad & Lacey, and Elisabetta & Val. Two of the couples are actually in the bottom two. One of the couples safe was Chaz & Lacey. So David and Elisabetta were in the bottom two this week! In the end, David & Kym were safe while Elisabetta & Val were eliminated. I think they were both little known with Elisabetta being the ex-girlfriend of George Clooney and an Italian actress, while Val is a new pro dancer and is only really known for being Maks’ brother. Let’s hope David gets his act together next week, because I think it’s too early for him to go!
You can watch Elisabetta and Val on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” at midnight!
