And the Mirror Ball Trophy Goes To...Hines Ward and Kym Johnson!

Hines Ward and his dance partner Kym Johnson have won the Mirror Ball Trophy on the 12th Season of "Dancing With the Stars"!

Kymhinesmirrorball
Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were the runners up, and Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas came in third place.

Everyoneout
Let’s recap the night.  After a rousing performance by the professional dancing ladies and the dance troop, the eliminated contestants took to the stage and were rejoined by their dance partners.  It’s amazing how it seems like forever since we’ve seen some of them!

Blackeyedpeas
The Black Eyed Peas came out next and performed their new hit “Don’t Stop the Party” from their new album “The Beginning”.  Now that’s a beat you can dance to!  Chelsea and Mark should have come out and danced to it with their lights!

They had some amazing introductions for the final three.  This show pulled out all the stops!  It really must be gratifying to each of them after all of the hard work they put into this season.

“Psycho” Mike Catherwood did a segment in a leotard where he pretended like he wanted to join the “DWTS Dance Troop”.  Then, he was out on the stage live and danced better than I ever remembered him dancing!  The best part was when his costume was stripped off to reveal his leotard!

Grobinpetra
Petra and Dmitry came out to perform their gorgeous Waltz to “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Grobin.  And guess who was there?  Josh Grobin!  He came there as a special guest to surprise Petra!  They were dancing and Dmitry turned her around and showed her Josh singing on stage, it was so funny!  It was a real surprise!

Kendra Wilkinson was back out to perform her signature booty shake.  If you didn’t have enough of it the first two or three times, she jumped onto the judge’s table and shook it some more!  The funny thing was she almost fell off!  Thank goodness she had a slew of dancing men all around her to catch her!

Then it was time to battle for Sugar Ray Leonard and Chris Jericho.  They were joined by their dance partners.  First, Sugar Ray and Anna danced to “My Prerogative” and then Chris and Cheryl followed.  After their solos they faced off!  I have to say, Sugar Ray was better than I remembered too!  Chris also did a killer Bruno impression at the end!

Wendy Williams and her partner did a bizarre segment with Tony Dovolani, and fortunately, we didn’t have to see her dance again. The funniest thing she said was that after this Kirstie Alley would make a good drinking partner.

Strippingmaks
The Go-Go’s were out next to perform “We Got the Beat”.  The ladies stripped Maks out of a police uniform.  Maybe a profession he can fall back on when he’s done with “Dancing With the Stars” someday?

Romeo and Chelsie did the best dance I’ve ever seen them do.  They danced to “The Greatest Love of All” and had a children’s choir sing.  It was really uplifting, as were Romeo’s lifts!  He did a fantastic job!

Ralphdancing
Ralph and Karina came back out to do their flapper routine, and they didn’t talk to them.  Ralph looked a little bit grumpy, but maybe he just couldn’t get over the fact that he wasn’t in the top three.  Oh well!

Ashleyhebert
Hey, who’s that in the audience?  It’s “The Bachelorette” Ashley Hebert!  You can read all about her journey for love in http://www.cominguprosesblog.com!

Now it’s back down to business.  Each of the final three had one more routine to perform for judge’s scores.  They had to pick their favorite routine of the season and try to get a better score.

Chelseadancing
Chelsea and Mark chose their Viennese Waltz aka their Wizard Waltz to the Harry Potter music.  I think Chelsea should stop making kissy faces while she dances, it’s starting to get annoying.  Other than that, they were so fantastic.  Mark basically levitated off the ground and it was just perfection!  They really are a perfect dancing match!  Len said that Chelsea is a fantastic dancer no matter what happens.  Bruno said Bellissimo!  He added that they were all under their spell.  Carrie Ann said that now everyone knows that Chelsea is an incredibly talented young woman.

Their Scores:  Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, and Bruno – 10 for a perfect 30!  That get’s added to their 59 from the night before for an 89 out of 90.

Kirstiedancing
Kirstie and Maks performed their Cha Cha Cha to Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You”.  It was better than before for sure.  Kirstie was really playing it up for the cameras and the audience just like Bruno suggested that she do the night before.  Bruno said that they saved the best for last and that she’s never danced better.  Carrie Ann said that she loves Kirstie so much and that she saw authenticity and magic.  Len said that they’ve overcome their setbacks and that it was her best dance ever.

Their Scores:  Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, and Bruno – 10, for a perfect 30 and a combined score of 84 out of 90.

Hinesdancing
Hines and Kym rounded out the night with their Samba.  Shake those hips Hines!  This was his most enthusiastic hip shaking yet!  They really did an amazing job and there was no doubt in my mind they would be getting 10’s for this!  Carrie Ann said that she loved it and he is the MVP of season 12.  Len said that while dance is the product he is an appealing package.  Bruno said that he’s a killer when he plays sports and a charming dazzler when he’s out on the dance floor.  He called Hines “Mr. Irresistible”.

Their Scores:  Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, and Bruno – 10, for a perfect 30 and a combined score of 89 out of 90.

Saraevans
Then, DWTS alumnus Sara Evans came out and performed a country hit while all of those scores were added to the viewers’ votes from home.

Finalthree
Chelsea and Mark came in third place despite tying for the top in judge’s votes.  I guess when it comes down to it; she couldn’t top Kirstie Alley’s popularity.  Kirstie came in second place, and she should be very proud of all the hard work she put into it.  Let’s hope she continues to follow her passions!  Hines and Kym, well they are off celebrating with their Mirror Ball Trophy!  They will appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” at midnight!
