« A Nasty Nor'Easter Arrives at the Worst Possible Time! | Main | A Great Weekend is on the Way! »

The Big Bad Nasty Nor'easter is Gone and Now Fall can Return!

Warmer, Early Fall Temperatures Are on the Way for the Weekend!

Today: Cloudy & Sun, Windy & Chilly High: 44

Tonight: Clearing and Cold, Less Wind  Low: 35

Tomorrow: Sunny & Milder  High: 53

Saturday: Sunny High: 58

Sunday: Sunny High: 63

Good Morning,

As a major Nor'easter begins to pull away from the coast early today, the effects

of it will be winding down across the Tri-State Area... While the heavy, wet snow that

occurred yesterday and during the night has left behind a general 3-6 inches in the

City, on Long Island and across much of central and northern New Jersey, there has

been greater than 8 inches of snow in portions of Connecticut, including northern

parts of Fairfield County... Winds have now dropped below the threshold which is

necessary for any advisory or warning to be in effect, but some of the gusts

(especially early today) will be close to 35 miles per hour...

Expect some lingering problems for a while this morning as slushy areas and

untreated surfaces provide us with some slick spots, but since the bulk of the

precipitation has let up (both in its intensity and coverage area), most temperatures

have begun to rise -- and many reporting stations will actually be above freezing at

We're headed for the lower and middle 40s later today as morning clouds break for

some sunshine, and the wind will still be chilly out of the northwest this afternoon

averaging 12-25 miles per hour... Tonight should offer clearing, and it will be chilly

with less wind...

The news for tomorrow and especially this coming weekend is MUCH BETTER - as a

high pressure system starts to build into the Eastern Region... While temperatures

tomorrow may have a tough time climbing above 50 in some places, the weekend

will be warmer... Most temperatures will be in the upper 50s on Saturday and the

lower 60s Sunday...

The warmer weather should last into early next week, with some places reaching the

mid 60s on Tuesday and Wednesday -- but we'll need to allow for a shower or

thunderstorm on Tuesday as well.

Have a good day!!!
