Sunny, Cool Start to this Thursday, but Rain is on the Way for NYC!

Umbrellas for later today, chilly gusty winds return to NYC tomorrow to start the weekend!

Good Morning,

A quick glance at the regional radar and satellite imagery early this morning indicates that moisture

associated with a wave of low pressure located in the Ohio Valley and a warm front extending eastward

into the mid-Atlantic states is spreading out across areas well to the SOUTH of the Tri-State Area...

Therefore, some of the adjustments we've had to make early this morning include allowing for a little

sunshine this morning, especially from the City on north, where it has been clear almost the entire

night... So, with most temperatures starting out in the upper-30s in the typically colder spots and the

40s elsewhere, there will be a tendency for sun to fade behind increasing clouds from south to north as

the morning unfolds...

By and large, as the light and spotty rain first occurs in places like Baltimore, D.C. and Philadelphia

during the morning and midday hours before showers creep farther to the north and east this afternoon

and early tonight, temperatures will ultimately be determined by how quickly it turns cloudy... And, it

could certainly be one of those unusual occurrences where the temperature this afternoon across

central and South Jersey is no higher than the mid or upper-50s, while the Five Boroughs, the Hudson

Valley and interior parts of Connecticut can reach the lower-60s with relative ease... We shouldn't

encounter any rain during the morning rush, but showers should spread into the region between the

hours of 2 and 5 p.m. this afternoon before wrapping up early tonight... So, you could call this round of

rain one that merely 'grazes' the Tri-State Area, bringing most places a tenth of an inch or less...

Clearing will then begin tonight as the wind starts to pick up... On the heels of today's wave of low

pressure that will be tracking to the mid-Atlantic Coast late this afternoon, a cool front will be moving

through the area early tonight... So, even though tomorrow will turn out mostly sunny, which is

something we had thought since the week began, there will be a gusty northwesterly wind that will

average 12-25 mph with gusts of around 30 mph -- and it will also be cool... Most temperatures will

probably be no higher than the upper-50s, and it will "feel like" its in the lower-50s in the afternoon...

As for the upcoming weekend, we'll be following yet another wave of low pressure that will be

developing in the middle of the country tonight and tomorrow... This low pressure system should cause

clouds to return/gradually increase on Friday night and early Saturday, and then some spotty rain may

occur Saturday afternoon into Saturday night... As we mentioned yesterday, even if the bulk of the rain

associated with this weekend's disturbance were to occur to the south of the Tri-State Area, we're still

going to see plenty of clouds on both Saturday and Sunday... And, temperatures both days should be

no higher than the 50s... Have a good day!!!

Bill: You interviewed my 2 redhead friends on Thursday, 4/25 and replayed the interview on 4/26. I and they would love to see the interview.

Would you be able to put it on your website? If not, please let us know how we could see it.

Thank you.
