Rain Builds Through the Afternoon Around NYC!

Have your rain gear at the ready, off and on rain at anytime, heavier from 6-8pm tonight!

Temperatures are sufficiently above freezing across most of the area to alleviate

problems. There are a few exceptions to that as of late morning but even those areas will be getting

above freezing during the course of the afternoon. The actual high for the day will occur sometime this

evening when the front from the west come through and mixes the milder air down to the surface.

Guidance for tomorrow is coming in a little lower than what we have but with the mild 850 temperatures

as long there is enough mixing it should be a pretty mild day. I do have a concern about Thursday night

that any precipitation that moves in may be something other than rain in the colder suburbs. I am also

thinking that we will be removing the rain from the Saturday forecast as most models are looking dry, but

will wait for another run as that is 6 days out.
