It's a Nice Afternoon All Across the NYC Area! Rain NOT Snow Is On the Way!

Clouds have broken in parts of the area so a wording of clouds and sun or some version thereof

 

looks appropriate for the afternoon. Forecast overall looks OK with the main concern being the

late tonight and first thing tomorrow time frame. That is when the models are moistening things

up on account of a northern branch short wave tugging an initial batch of moisture northward.

Some models are printing out a hundredth of an inch or so while others have nothing. I think

there could be a bit of precip late tonight and tomorrow morning as well. And while it

would be a touch of rain or a few sprinkles in the city it could be a little freezing drizzle in some

colder suburbs. The really meaningful rain then moves in for late tomorrow and tomorrow night

and continues into Friday.
