Cold SHot of Air Now Will Make for Some Great NYC Snow!
A pretty cold air mass has snuck in at the last minute so we are lowering the high
today and low tonight a bit. Really no big changes in thinking from earlier for the storm. My own feeling
is that "around 3" would be the best snowfall forecast for Manhattan with the higher amounts mostly
north of the GW Bridge. We can point that out on the air without changing the actual forecast. I just have
a couple of other concerns, one of which is that with clearing skies and fresh snow cover it can get
surprising cold tomorrow night. A lot of suburbs may end up well down in the teens. That low-level cold
air can lead to a threat of some freezing rain/drizzle, at least in the colder suburbs, Sunday night before
it warms up for Monday.
