While I wouldn't trade living in NYC for the world, I am a little jealous of Los Angelinos today. All the fun LOST-related events seem to happen on the west coast. Last night it was "LOST Live," The Final Celebration.
The event honored Academy-Award winning "LOST" composer Michael Giacchino, whose music has added so much impact to every episode of the show. A bunch of the cast attended. Those who went actually got to watch "What They Died For," this Tuesday's episode, a whole five days early! There was even a reading of all those letters in a bottle that Sawyer, Jin and Michael took with them on their ill-fated raft trip in season one.
With the series finale so very close, not much is coming out for this Tuesday's new episode. We do have a few sneak peek pictures, but they might as well be stock photos for all they reveal. Which is fine by me. What they do show is Hurley, Jack, Kate and Sawyer back in the spotlight. Looks like the battle of good and evil will pit the four of them against Flocke. And what about Widmore and company? And where are Ben and Richard and Miles? Looks like it's going to be another jam-packed hour.
Here again are the video clips released from the upcoming episode, "What They Died For". No spoilers here either, but teasers if you are interested.
Remember all those years ago, when it was announced that LOST would end with season six? I'm sure there are varying opinions on whether setting a deadline was a fantastic idea or a fantastically bad one but either way, it felt a long way off. Now here we are with just three regular season episodes left, and then the two hour finale. And then LOST is history.
I read a tweet from co-creator Damon Lindeloff that suggests they're just hours away from finishing the editing of the finale. Apparently they were oh-so-close to done with it overnight.
"Numbers," "Everybody Hates Hugo," "Dave," "Tricia Tanaka Is Dead," "The Lie," they're all Hurley-centric episodes of LOST, and they're among some of the best ever in the series. Tonight, Hugo Reyes is in the spotlight again, in episode 6.12, "Everybody Loves Hugo."
Some fans are sure Hurley is the key to it all. Others looking at the structure of the show think the character kind of acts the part of the audience, asking his fellow castaways questions we wish we could ask. One thing is for sure, if the producers kill off the Hurley character, they are never going to stop hearing about it!
A look ahead to "Happily Ever After" and the latest LOST Untangled!
First, Sun and Jin didn't get their happy ending this week in "The Package." And even though next week's Desmond-centric episode is titled "Happily Ever After," we suspect it won't be all sunshine and roses for Desmond either. Take a look at some of the newly-released pictures from "Happily Ever After," which seem to show Widmore's team conducting some strange experiments on Desmond.
A couple of weeks ago it looked like Ben's number was up, so to speak. But he survived the episode "Dr. Linus" in a most unexpected way. I'm wondering if Jin and Sun will be as lucky after tonight's show, "The Package"?
The Kwons haven't been in the same place since the end of season four, when Jin seemed to have perished in the explosion on the freighter sent to the island by Charles Widmore.
The creative team of LOST, which came up with such great episode titles as "All the Best Cowboys have Daddy Issues," (season one) "Man of Science, Man of Faith," (season three) and "Some Like it Hoth" (season five) have announced the title for the very last episode ever.
You may already have heard the news, and the title is "The End." That's it, just "The End." I think there are two possibilities...
It's Tuesday, and it's Sawyer's turn on LOST! We'll get a James-centered episode, both on and off the island, following the pattern we've seen all season.
Several of this year's episodes also share something else in common: The title says a little bit of something about both the Version 1.0 Losties, and their Flashsideways counterparts.
Well Tuesday night's episode, "Sundown" is going to require a little thought and perhaps another watch in the morning before it will allow itself to be fully blogged about. Just so much going on tonight. Clearly the sides are being drawn up: Team Smokey and Team Jacob, and you just know they will be facing off in a huge way before the big finale.
Wow! There's a new promo out for tonight's episode- and it contains some pretty big news. That is, if Ben's not lying. Which would seem to be fifty-fifty, but he sounds pretty sure....
We're a little more than a day away from "Lighthouse" right now, and ABC.com has released just a handful of pictures promoting the episode. I could be wrong, but I take that as a sign of a very eventful hour.
We have two video clips previewing next Tuesday's episode, "Lighthouse." One is of an island-hardened Claire preparing to interrogate an Other on the whereabouts of her son Aaron. The other shows Flashsideways Jack and his mom dealing with his dad's legal matters after his death, and sheds just a bit of light on yet another way in which he might differ from Season One Jack.
Anyone else finding the alternate realities plotline both a lot of fun and a little concerning?
New LOST Sneak Peek Pictures: Episode 6.5 "Lighthouse"
We have new photos in our photo gallery from ABC.com- a look ahead to next week's episode, entitled "Lighthouse."
Last week we got a Flocke/Locke centric show, and the week before it was all about Kate. This coming week it's Jack in the spotlight- and Hurley too. Actor Matthew Fox said in an interview (see earlier post) that this coming week's show is about as important as any in the series when it comes to his character's development. Hmmm... sounds ominous.
It's just hours since "The Substitute" aired, and gave us some new insights into the characters and mythology of LOST, and already there is some great new video out, courtesy of ABC: Matthew Fox talks about next week's show, "The Lighthouse," and what it means to be a candidate. The producers give us some clues about what is coming up next week. And Terry O'Quinn and Jorge Garcia share their thoughts, too!
Locke and Flocke are back! After a week with no Ben, John, Richard or Sun, we are headed back to the sunny side of the beach, away from the Temple and those pesky Temple Others. Not that everything is so wonderful for the Losties, Lapidus and Ilana, who last saw Flocke storming away from them after declaring himself deeply disappointed in them and those who followed Jacob.
I'll be most interested to see where Ben goes next. After becoming such an instrumental character for three full seasons, he seems to be kind of a wild card again- no Jacob to do odd jobs for, no clear next step in his villainous development. But I'm sure he'll figure out where best to use his evil genius.
Here's a little pre-Tuesday video for you: Evangeline Lilly talks about her take on "Flashsideways" Kate, and the LOST producers take viewer questions!
Next week we get a John Locke-centered episode, entitled "The Substitute." As with this week's epi, I expect we'll see both Lockes (or Locke and Flocke, one might say) in action.
Below is a preview clip for the episode- short and no spoilers. And here's a photogallery with the latest pictures- as soon as preview pics for next week are available, we'll post them up!
Well we're about 32 hours away from the next episode as I write this, and ABC.com has begun offering up sneak peek pictures for the next episode. It's one of my favorite things they do share- little visual glimpses into what's coming next.
Of course they're not going to post anything that might give too much away (and there's proof that's what people want: Spoilers for the show just aren't getting clicked on much this year- people want to be surprised).
Fans who haven't seen the big premiere yet are warned: The clip below is a preview clip for next week's episode, "What Kate Does."
And our panel of LOSTies here at ABC7 will be commenting on each week's show, sharing their reaction on the episode and where the show is going. After this week, I'll include that in our blog post about the show- but with last night being a two hour premiere night, I don't want their efforts to get lost at the bottom of the blog! So here is what they have to say!
The last night you will ever watch a first episode of the new season of LOST!
Okay, so if you are a LOST fan it's both exciting and a little bittersweet. No more "first episode of the year" after tonight! And I've always found those first episodes of the year end up being among my favorites. Examples:
Season 1: Pilot: Parts 1 and 2 Part of the reason LOST made it past season one at all! Really more like a movie than a TV show- visually stunning, and *so* much happens in those first two hours.
