The LOST writers have the last (podcast) word

A New York Times writer just weighed in on the end of LOST and basically said that five of the six seasons were sub par and that we are the ones being freed from the island.

I'm not sure which ALT he lives in, but the view looks a lot different from mine. I'm trying to imagine another show that will step up and offer so many twists and turns, will dare to be so complicated even the die-hard fans have to give some episodes a second watch before they've caught every nuance, another show that will make subtle and not so subtle reference to everything from spaghetti westerns to science fiction to literary classics... and I just don't see it happening again anytime soon. Or staying entertaining for six full years. So I'm not thrilled about being sprung from the island.

The LOST writers are sharing in those mixed feelings. In the video clip below, they talk about the process of providing a beginning, a middle, and an end to LOST and about how it isn't easy for them to say goodbye.

More coming tomorrow as we get ready for the finale! NamasteAndGoodLuck

You don't remember a show " trying to imagine another show that will step up and offer so many twists and turns, will dare to be so complicated even the die-hard fans have to give some episodes a second watch before they've caught every nuance, another show that will make subtle and not so subtle reference to everything from spaghetti westerns to science fiction to literary classics... " Well how about Six Feet Under? It showed how to end a show that had rabid fans with something as amazing as probably the best finale in history. I am sorry, but you fell horribly short. I had amazing faith that you would pull it out, but you basically gave me a final episode, that while touching as HELL in some spots, wasn't even relevant. This show could have ended after the first season, with the predictable ending we all thought it would have 6 years ago. You wasted our time, but I am sure you made a whole lot of money on the advertising dollars. I was one of your biggest fans. Such a shame...

I THINK JACK WASTED HIS SURGICAL SKILLS BY GOING BACK TO THE ISLAND AND VOLUNTEERING TO BE ITS PROTECTOR .
ANOTHER POSSIBLE ENDING;HE PASSED OUT AND THE OLD COUPLE WOULD FIND AND NURSE HIM BACK,FINDING HIM THROUGH THE DOG.BUT THEN THAT IS ANOTHER STORY.....

SOME CONTRADICTIONS AND INCONSISTENCIES IN THE STORY
OR ANOTHER POSSIBILITY,THE SMOKE MONSTER COULD POSSESS JACK'S DEAD BODY.BUT THAT AGAIN IS ANOTHER STORY

BAD BEN GOT AWAY WITH HIS MURDERS.I THINK HE HAS SPLIT PERSONALITY,SOMETIMES GOOD,KEPT HIS WORD,OTHER TIMES,A MURDERER.IF THERE IS REDEMPTION FOR HIM,IT WAS NOT SHOWN
